Privacy Policy — tinyCam Monitor

tinyCam Monitor is a local-first camera viewer published by Mobile Alchemy Ltd. It is built so that your video never has to leave your device. This policy explains exactly what is stored, where, and the few cases where data leaves your phone — always because you chose it.

What we do not collect

• We operate no servers and receive no video, images or recordings from you.
• No account or sign-up is required to use the app.
• No analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs or telemetry are included.
• We do not sell or share personal data. We do not track you across apps or websites.

What stays on your device

• Camera list and settings — stored locally on the device only.
• Camera usernames and passwords — stored in the iOS Keychain, never transmitted anywhere except directly to the camera you entered them for.
• Video, snapshots, recordings and motion events — written to the app's private storage on your device. They are not uploaded.
• Motion and AI detection — runs entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Frames are analysed locally and are never sent off the device.

Local network

The app connects directly to cameras on your local network using standard protocols (RTSP, ONVIF, MJPEG) and vendor local APIs. iOS will ask for Local Network permission for this. The connection is between your device and your camera; we are not in the path.

Optional vendor cloud sign-in

Some camera brands only work through their manufacturer's cloud. If — and only if — you choose to sign in to one of these services in the app (for example Wyze, Tuya/SmartLife, Ring, Nest, Blink or Eufy), then:

• Your credentials are sent directly to that vendor to authenticate. We never receive them.
• The resulting access token is stored in the iOS Keychain on your device.
• Your use of that service is governed by that vendor's own privacy policy.

If you never sign in to a vendor cloud, the app makes no connections beyond your local network (other than purchases, below).

Purchases

Optional Pro features are sold as in-app purchases. Payment is handled by Apple; we never see your payment details. We use Adapty to manage subscription state and validate receipts. For this purpose Adapty processes a pseudonymous app-install identifier and purchase/transaction events. This is used solely to determine whether your Pro access is active — it is not used for advertising, and it is not linked to your identity by us.

Microphone and camera permissions

Microphone access is requested only when you use two-way talk, and audio is streamed directly to your camera. Camera access is requested only if you scan a QR code during setup. Neither is recorded or transmitted to us.

Children

The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your rights

Because your data stays on your device, you remain in control of it: deleting a camera removes its stored credentials, deleting recordings or events removes them from storage, and deleting the app removes everything it stored. Where vendor cloud accounts are involved, contact that vendor to exercise rights over data held by them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new date.
